Kopi Teh Makan (KTM)

Your pantry. Their first job.

Many of these youths have never been given a chance to work. Your office can be the first, and your team gets an afternoon it won't forget.

Few employers will give a youth on the autism spectrum a first chance. KTM does, inside your office.

The usual CSR day

  • Your team travels out, packs boxes or serves meals, then leaves
  • The people you help stay on the receiving end
  • Often a large, one-off group activity
  • You count hours volunteered

A KTM session

  • The youths come to you. No transport, everyone in the office can take part.
  • They're the ones working. A paid micro-job, with your colleagues as customers.
  • Small and curated. Three youths, a job coach and a menu planned for your office.
  • You see real progress: an impact report on how the youths grew.

You're not funding an activity. You're changing a life, and your team gets to watch it happen.

Not an activity. A life changed, one session at a time.

KTM isn't measured in meals served. It's measured in the small wins that add up to independence, and your colleagues see them happen.

Headphones off

A youth who wore noise-cancelling headphones gradually removed them, managing the sensory load of a busy office with pride.

Meltdowns to self-directed

A youth who had meltdowns in early sessions became calmer, more self-directed and comfortable serving.

Fear of heat, overcome

A youth who was afraid of handling heat now prepares tea and coffee for corporate guests.

A new skill every session

Fine motor movements that were hard one week improved by the next. Each session brought a small win.

One engagement, measured: Dymon Asia, 4 sessions, July to August 2026

80micro-job hours created for the youths
320+staff interactions with the youths
7youths given paid micro-jobs
$10/hrpaid to each youth. For many, their first salary

From Dymon Asia's KTM impact report. Columbia Threadneedle's three sessions in May 2026 added 36 micro-job hours and 60+ staff interactions.

Measured outcomes needed: for example, how many youths improved task completion or behavioural regulation (job-coach assessments), how many progressed to further programmes or jobs, and caregiver feedback. Once available, these become the headline here. Also add all-time totals across all 9 hosts since December 2023: sessions, youths and micro-job hours.

What your company gets to use in its ESG reporting.

Every host receives an impact report at the end, co-branded with your company. This is the one from Dymon Asia's four sessions.

  • Hours of paid work created, and staff interactions
  • The youths your team supported, and their stories
  • Photos from each session
  • The context your support addresses: the post-18 cliff

Success stories

From an earlier KTM cohort

Sean's story: "Mummy, are you proud of me?"

For years, Suit Fong wondered what the future would hold for her son Sean. Communication, meltdowns and unfamiliar places could be hard, and his family spent years helping him cope and grow more independent.

Then Sean, now 29, joined Kopi Teh Makan and took on his first micro-job. His family weren't sure he could manage frontline F&B work. He learnt to prepare and serve drinks, follow workplace routines and talk with customers, and his confidence grew.

One day he asked his mother: "Mummy, are you proud of me?" For Suit Fong, that moment brought what she had spent years searching for: assurance.

Jolin, through her mother's eyes

"For me, it's a miracle to see her tie her apron by herself. KTM showed me my child can earn and work."

"I wasn't able to find any place for Jolin to work in, but here she has her first job."

From garden to pantry, the youths do it all. That's what your $10,000 pays for.

Many ingredients are grown and harvested by the youths, and everything on the menu is prepared by the same youths serving it. Menus change with each harvest.

  1. A youth preparing snacks in a pantry1

    Recruit

With our social enterprise partners and social service agencies, we find youths and caregivers aligned with KTM's principles.

  2. Youths and volunteers harvesting at the community garden2

    Grow

Youths seed, compost, tend and harvest the herbs, greens and flowers used in their menu.

  3. A youth preparing muffins3

    Prepare

Person-centred vocational training with our social enterprise partners: turning the harvest into drinks and snacks, plus workplace etiquette.

  4. A youth serving colleagues from a cart4

    Serve

Youths serve what they made to your team, in your pantry, with a job coach beside them.

  5. A youth setting up cups for a session5

    Grow further

Youths continue with future KTM cohorts, or we connect them to external partners for the next step.

Garden to table, end to end. Everything your team tastes carries weeks of the youths' work, and every dollar you give pays for it.

The youths your team will meet.

Not beneficiaries. Colleagues for an afternoon, each with their own story.

Hosted by nine companies, and counting.

It started with a single pilot at Tolaram in December 2023. Since then, around 1 in 3 of our host companies has booked KTM again, coming back for two or three more rounds.

A returning partner

Dymon Asia: four KTM sessions, and a longstanding partner.

A longstanding Ray of Hope supporter, Dymon hosted four KTM sessions from July to August 2026, working with seven of our youths.

Beyond the pantry

Columbia Threadneedle opened the doors wider.

Over three sessions in May 2026, the team invited other tenants in its building to join in. The youths ended up serving the Portuguese Ambassador.

Everything's prepared. Your team just shows up.

Want to go further? Add a learning journey to our community garden in Woodlands, or have youths tend a garden at your office that supplies your sessions.

Questions hosts ask us.

What do we need to provide?

A pantry or common area, and your team's time to come by. Food, drinks, equipment and coordination are all included.

Who is responsible for the youths in our office?

An on-site Ray of Hope job coach supervises the youths for the whole session. Your office simply hosts.

Are the youths paid?

Yes. Every youth earns a stipend for each session. For many, it's their first earned income.

How is the menu decided?

Menus change with each harvest and season. We plan yours around your team size and office, using what the youths have grown. Tell us about dietary needs when we plan.

What if our office has more than 40 people?

Every KTM package is tailored to your office. The standard package serves up to 40 colleagues per session. For bigger teams, tell us your headcount when you enquire and we'll plan the right format with you.

What about our pantry and food safety requirements?

Before the first session, we'll go through your pantry set-up and any food safety or building rules with you, and adapt how we prepare and serve to fit. The youths are trained in food hygiene, and a job coach is with them throughout.

How far ahead should we book?

Please give us at least 4 weeks' notice. Each session needs weeks of growing, training and preparation, so the earlier you enquire, the more dates you can choose from.

Give a youth their first chance.

Tell us about your team. We'll reply with available dates and a proposal, within 3–5 working days.

  • No commitment. It starts with a conversation.
  • Our team reaches out to every enquiry personally.
  • Every package is tailored to your organisation.
